If your year was to be defined by a song, what song would it be? “Walking on Sunshine,” “I’m a Believer,” “Girls Just Want to Have Fun”? Maybe something darker? “Livin’ on a Prayer” or “I Will Survive”?
The point is, a song can inspire us or sum up an intention in a couple of words. It also helps us focus when we use a few words to rally around. It can set the tone, make us pick up the pace, or allow us to share what we’re aiming for with others.
Choosing a theme song for the day, week, month, or year is just one way to plan—but a fun way. I’m choosing, “Time” by Pink Floyd. The concept of recognizing, “Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time” and, “No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun” speak to me. No regrets, nothing left undone or unsaid, and no fear of what people will say or think.
