The band I’m currently in has played at a few different venues but the band members tend to choose obscure, complicated, and unpopular songs to learn and play which makes it hard to get gigs. They don’t care because they just enjoy playing and challenging themselves. At first I found this frustrating. I changed my thinking and look at it like they do, this band is just for musical enjoyment. Any hobby is more fun when we don’t take it so seriously and just do it for the joy of it with no pressure of taking it too seriously. So write, paint, sing, dance, and create just for the fun of it. I’m writing my 26th book, a novel, just for me. It’s available on Vella (from Amazon) but with no illusion of writing a best seller or caring what critics may say has made the project so much more enjoyable and a lot less stressful.
