Like many people my age, our parents are aging and facing serious health issues. My father passed away when he was 70, and I was 42. I’m 55 now, and my mother is in failing health--she’s 83. I only bring this up because of the life lessons.
When we do the math and subtract how long we have lived from how long we can expect to live (81 for women, 76 for men) it can be a wake up call to not waste time, stop putting off projects and plans, and live--really live.
If you don’t have a “Bucket List” (and you can call it whatever you want) of things you want to do before it's too late (or you're too old) maybe this is the time to stop putting that off and make one. It’s enlightening and empowering.
