Follow Through

It surprises even me. What am I talking about? How taking a big project and breaking it down into less scary small steps leads to follow through. Writing a book is the perfect example. It's overwhelming—especially if you also plan to self-publish it. By creating easy-to-complete tasks connected to the ultimate goal you just keep chipping away and before you know it you're done. As proof this works, over the past few months I have written, designed, and published three books (two are mine, one was for hire). The only thing that seprates me from the person who desperately wants to have a book of their own but doesn't is consistent action. Everytime I start a book I feel three things: Fear, fear, and more fear. Having been through it before helps, but making it as easy as possible to start, make progress, and finish is to make each step so easy it's not scary. So if you want to complete a big project of any kind (including a book) break it down, start now, and keep reaching mini milestones so you can see the progress and feel the momentum. (You can also reach out to me if you need any help with creeating a plan of action or want to publish a book. I can help.)
