Back To The Future

We always say children are the future. Well, for credit unions, teenagers are. As the parent of two teenagers, my wife and I encouraged them to join our local credit union just like we did over thirty years ago, and our parents before us. It wasn't that simple.
They say we either become like our parents, or we go completely the other way. Not only am I a lifetime credit union member, but I'm also an advocate and the author of the book The Credit Union Way. So it was crushing that both boys wanted to weigh their banking options.
To help win them back, with the help of Kim Butler we created a simple but effective interactive guide about managing money to show them how their choices play out over time. It allowed me to talk about the benefits of a credit union as their financial partner. I went one for two, and still have hope that my son, who is choosing a big bank, will come back over to "our" side soon.
The guide is free and you will find it at: https://www.leesilber.com/guides.Lee Silber is an author and advocate for credit unions, focusing on a whole-brain approach to financial planning.
