Sometimes an epiphany or timely reminder of what matters most comes from the strangest places. I'm not a gambler (only because I hate to lose) but I will occasionally buy a lottery ticket. At the local market where I bought my two quick picks I asked the owner, "Ever have any Lottery winners at this location?" He didn't hesitate when he said, "Yes. You're a winner."
"I am?" I replied, not sure if I'd bought a winning ticket or he was pulling my leg. I didn't have to wait long for the answer.
"You look healthy, you have money to buy a lottery ticket, a wife and kids, a career. You're already a winner."
You know what, he is right. (My ticket was a bust, but as he made me realize, that's besides the point.)
